Terms of reference (ToR)

A description of the purpose, scope and structure of a piece of work, especially consulting or advisory work. It plays the same role as a statement of work.

Statement of work (SOW)

The part of a tender or contract that says exactly what the supplier will do: tasks, deliverables, timelines and acceptance. It is the first thing to read in any IT tender.
