Procurement pipeline

A public list of contracts a buyer expects to tender over the next year or more. Pipelines let small firms plan bids and teaming well ahead of the notice.

Prior information notice (PIN)

A notice that a buyer plans to tender for something in the coming months. In the UK under the Procurement Act 2023, a similar early warning is called a pipeline or preliminary market engagement notice.

Re-tender

When an existing contract ends and the buyer runs a new competition for the same work. Re-tenders are predictable from award notices, so they are the easiest tenders to prepare for.
